MOTIONLAB / VJ LOOP STARTER KIT Version: 2026-10-17 Guide: https://www.motionlab.art/guides/vj-loop-design Use this text kit to plan and review your own loop candidates. It contains prompt recipes and a worksheet, not video files or a guaranteed output. QUICK START 1. Prepare a source image you have permission to use. 2. Open https://www.motionlab.art/create/video and choose a supported MotionLab image-to-video model. Upload the Start image. 3. Adapt one recipe below. Enable Loop and leave End image empty. 4. Choose an available duration/resolution. Check the credit quote before generating. A new creative variation is a new paid generation. 5. Watch the downloaded result for at least three repeats, including its audio. Regenerate or finish a take with a visible or audible restart. 6. Prepare and rehearse the playback copy in your live software. RECIPE 1 / AMBIENT BED Camera locked. Preserve the source image's composition and silhouette. Animate only the teal haze in a slow, continuous circulating current. Keep a quiet central area for a performer or title overlay. Deep blacks, restrained highlights, steady density and constant motion speed. No cuts, sudden reveals, camera moves, new objects, text or flashing. Motion should feel cyclical across repeated playback. RECIPE 2 / SCULPTURAL ACCENT Camera locked on the central metallic sculpture. Preserve its geometry, position and edges. Let a broad, soft amber reflection travel slowly around the surface in a repeating cycle. Keep the black background and negative space stable. Controlled contrast, smooth light movement, no strobing, no camera movement, no text and no shape transformation. RECIPE 3 / TEXT-SAFE SCREEN BACKGROUND Keep the source image and camera fixed. Animate the indigo particle field only in the outer third of the frame, drifting along a slow circular path. Preserve the empty center for a title or logo added later in your editor. Maintain constant particle density, steady brightness and restrained speed. No cuts, text generation, sudden bursts, camera movement or new objects. CHANGE ONE THING PER TAKE Keep the same source and model. Compare a slower/faster motion direction, or a lower/higher density. Record your settings and the result's actual cost. Prompt wording guides the model; it does not guarantee exact preservation or beat synchronization. BPM WORKSHEET / 4/4 Target duration in seconds = bars x 4 x 60 / BPM. At 120 BPM: 2 bars = 4s, 4 bars = 8s, 8 bars = 16s. At 128 BPM: 2 bars = 3.75s, 4 bars = 7.5s, 8 bars = 15s. For other meters, replace 4 with the beats per bar counted by that BPM. Select an available generation duration and retime the selected take in your playback/editor workflow when needed. Recheck the join after retiming. Your BPM: __________ Bars: __________ Target seconds: __________ Model/tier: ________________________ Source: ____________________ Duration: __________ Resolution: __________ FPS: _______________ Quoted credits: __________ Selected take: _______________________ PLAYBACK CHECKLIST [ ] Watch at least three whole cycles in the downloaded file. [ ] Inspect the last-to-first join at speed and frame by frame. [ ] Check subject/geometry stability, flicker and repeated-frame pauses. [ ] Audition the audio join; mute or finish it separately if needed. [ ] Check title/logo readability, cropping and the actual screen pixel map. [ ] Recheck the join after changing speed or the player's loop range. [ ] Prepare the codec required by your playback system. For Resolume, see its official media preparation documentation for DXV/Alley. [ ] Rehearse all layers and effects together at the destination resolution. [ ] Confirm source permissions and the selected model's output terms.
