AI Tools for VJs Before Show Prep

Keepers go through the rest of the usual pipeline, minus the seam pass: time-remap to the set tempo, conform to the screen's pixel map, and transcode — DXV for Resolume, HAP for VDMX, MadMapper, and most media servers.

AI-for-VJs questions
Do I still have to crossfade the loop in an editor?
A supported Loop render uses its opening frame as the return frame and trims the duplicate closing frame, so a usable take may not need an editor seam pass. Still review the exported file on repeat; a visible jump, unstable motion, or an audio click may need regeneration or finishing.
Does MotionLab replace Resolume or a media server?
No. MotionLab generates the source material; Resolume, VDMX, MadMapper, or a media server still handles playback, mixing, effects, and output mapping. Think of it as the layer that used to be After Effects renders or stock packs.
What does the full workflow look like, prompt to show file?
Generate stills to lock a direction, animate the keepers into 4-20 second clips with Loop on so they come back seamless, review on repeat, time-remap to tempo, transcode to DXV or HAP, then organize clips into columns by set moment.
Can it make content for unusual screen shapes?
MotionLab outputs 16:9, 9:16, and 1:1 up to 4K. For ultrawide walls and strips, generate wide compositions with generous negative space and crop to the native pixel map, or tile multiple clips across the canvas in your media server.
Is this real-time or generative AV?
No — MotionLab produces pre-rendered clips. If your set leans on real-time generative layers, tools like TouchDesigner or Notch stay in the stack; generated clips work alongside them as pre-rendered content.
How do I keep a set visually coherent with AI material?
Reuse one prompt skeleton per set and vary a single element at a time — energy, density, or camera speed. Families of siblings from the same visual world cut together far better than ten unrelated ideas.
